Paddle Cafe Coffeehouse is part of the Bridge 8 Hub Social Enterprise. It offers amazing coffee, home baking, a small light menu and a monthly outdoor dining experience alongside Edinburgh’s Union Canal.

Situated on the outskirts of Edinburgh, Paddle Cafe Coffeehouse is ideally located allowing for a gentle walk, pre or post lunch or to participate in one of the many activities onsite.

During lockdown the Paddle Cafe Coffeehouse made quite a name for itself as a must-visit destination for outdoor dinning via its nordic twilight experience. During 2021 customers will have the opportunity to participate in their monthly outdoor dining experiences. Established in 2017 and growing from strength to strength - the unique café is made up from a collection of up-cycled containers. Outdoor tables surrounded by planted herbs offer comfortable seating to take in the canal-side atmosphere and dogs are welcome. Please note there is no indoor seating.

Paddle Cafe will now be open Saturday and Sunday 10am - 4pm.

Flint and Steel Adventure Nights

Our Flint & Steel nights starts from 01st December - 17th December. Every Saturday and Sunday 1pm - 3pm or 5pm - 7pm.

What to expect-

A warm welcome, beautiful hygge setting (created by Ross McCulloch), non alcoholic mulled wine, guided twilight paddle on Edinburgh's Union Canal, bagpiper (evening only), delicious food, our new hot chocolate bar and fire pits to roast marshmallows.

Supporting our social enterprise this winter will allow us to support next year's youth cycle challenge in 2024.

Nordic Twilight Experience 2020 and 2021

The evening began with soup by the fire, followed by a Nordic inspired dish created in conjunction with top chef Tony Singh, Riki Gerard from Live.Love.Cook and our own Kirsty from the Paddle café.

Then it was onto the canal for a twilight paddle or a ride on the glow bikes followed by hot chocolate and smores round the fire.
